Fuel consumption verification
Why?
Is fuel consumption stated in your ship’s contract? Or do you want to verify the engine’s specific fuel consumption and compare it with the shop tests? With new environmental regulations coming into play, such as the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII), it is essential to know the efficiency of your ship’s power plant.
What we do
- Verification of the specific fuel consumption [g/kWh] by recording fuel consumption and produced shaft power.
- Apply corrections following ISO3046 for caloric value, fuel temperature, charge air coolant temperature, engine room temperature and pressure, towards reference conditions enabling a comparison with the specific fuel consumption reported in the engine’s FAT tests.
- Verification of the actual fuel consumption versus ship speed relation (in combination with speed/power trials).
