Pleased to meet you, I am Geerhard Janse, founder and owner of Janse Maritime Consultancy (JMC).
I always feel excited when boarding a vessel; a giant container carrier, double-ended ferry or offshore supply vessel, they all get me moving! After working at the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) for over 15 years, I became an expert in conducting sea trials. Sea trials for new-built vessels (speed/power, manoeuvring, bollard pull, etc.) as well as measurement campaigns to investigate vibration or cavitation erosion problems on propellers, for example. By cooperating in the development of the latest ISO15016:2025 standard, I know everything about the procedure, corrections for environmental conditions and their effect on the final results.
With my experience working onboard vessels around the globe, good understanding of hydrodynamics and sea trial standards, I am your global maritime partner. Together with other experienced specialists in the maritime industry, we form a flexible team. We understand the dynamics of ports and shipbuilding, the importance of human factors, and bring a can-do mentality to your maritime challenge at hand.

JMC specializes in conducting independent measurements and providing advice to the maritime sector. High quality
The majority of our work consists of speed/power trials, manoeuvring trials, and bollard pull trials. JMC conducts all these trials using dedicated, independent measurement equipment, presenting all parameters continuously and synchronously on the wheelhouse. This ensures the production of high-quality deliverables, such as a sea trial performance report, manoeuvring booklet and/or bollard pull certificate.
