Why measure shaft power?
Whether you have a vessel, a wind turbine, power station or a pump, we are your partner to measure shaft power. For short or long term monitoring or an assessment of torsional vibration. Accurate measurements of shaft power gives valuable insight in generated or consumed power, plant efficiency or losses in reduction gears.
What we do
- We record shaft power using a dedicated shaft power measurement system based on strain gauge technology, with an accuracy of +/- 1%.
- We install a strain gauge to measure the torque on the shaft. These strain gauges can be glued to any homogeneous steel shaft. The rotational speed of the shaft is measured by an optical sensor.
- We synchronously record RPM, torque and power on one or more shafts, displaying real-time data on site.
- We facilitate long-term or short-term measurements.
- We provide installation service of your permanent shaft power measurement systems produced by VAF and DATUM.
Marine shaft power meters
- We use shaft power meter systems developed by DATUM Electronics or by MARIN. These systems are based on strain gauge technology.
